Colloquium 2015

"Air pollution control by means of photocatalysis - approaches for sustainable urban and transport development?"

23 September 2015, Bergisch Gladbach, joint event with the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt)

A good infrastructure and secure mobility are important location factors, but at the same time implicate a number of negative consequences for people and the environment. In particular, compliance with the limit values set by the EU represents an enormous challenge, which is being met with various measures. One of these can be the use of the photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide, for example. The intention of the colloquium is to present experiences with the use of photocatalytically active materials for the reduction of air pollution and to discuss possibilities for their application. Ideas and solution strategies can thus be discussed on the way to a better environment in the context of sustainable mobility.

The contributions will be in the form of short technical presentations followed by a discussion. In addition, posters and exhibition material will be presented in an accompanying exhibition. The colloquium targets all interested parties and decision-makers from science, politics, administration and business who are concerned with air pollution control and sustainable urban and transport development.
